Not Today

 This is just a random bored post of me discussing my list of On HOld dramas and the chances of me going back to them. I typically keep a decent amount in my currently watching list and sometimes even if i don't watch an ep for a month, i will still keep it there. Things go in my OH pile when I /generally/ lose interest in them but still feel like i want to finish them or give them another chance. So here goes.

1. Broker 3/42 eps completed

I started this when I was testing new drams to decide what to watch. I really do not like Song Qian. She's not a very good actress. I don't know what to make of Luo Yunxi. sOME parts of this were intriguing, but other parts were annoying and not really believable. I feel like there's a good chance I'll drop this for good, but I think i'd like to give it a few more eps before deciding for sure.

2. Demi Gods and Semi Devils 3/50 eps completed

This is the same situation as Broker, but I'm far less interested in this one bc i think i barely got going on it. Plus, the guy who plays Duan Yu is the Wu Xie actor from Explore and he is soooooooooooooo annoying. I'd say this is a high chance of being dropped without further ado.

3. Sparrow 13/61 eps completed

I put this on hold back in 2017 i think when i just took a major hiatus from all dramas and whatnot period. I highly regret not going back to it bc now it's not available anywhere in my region. If it DOES come back though, I guarantee I will restart it in a second. 

4. Stealth Walker 10/24 eps completed

This is one of the dramas i tried along with Broker and DGSD. I didn't hate it, but it was kinda boring all the same. I put it on hold to watch something else more interesting I guess. My feelings towards it right now are pretty neutral. I'd say there's a 50/50 chance I go back to it in the near future.

5. Sweet Combat 14/37 eps completed

Another casualty of the 2017 drama hiatus. I was actually enjoying this one quite a bit too. I feel like I'd definitely go back to it at some point. I'd say the chances of doing so are fairly high. 

6. The Four 29/48 eps completed

I actually dropped this once lol and then restarted it last year. It started to irritate me with the main couple, so i threw it on hold. There's a good chance I'll finish it in the future, just have to find the right mood.

7. The King In Love 28/40 eps completed

Aaaaand another casualty of my 2017 drama hiatus lmao.  I honestly def want to finish this bc it has two of my fave Korean actors and I was really waiting for them to be a couple in the drama. Plus, these were 35 mins eps so the 12 remaining eps is more like 6 in standard Kdrama accounting. Chances of going back to: HIGH

8. The Longest Day in Chang'an 4/48 eps completed

This was part of a different drama tryout session from the other three I mentioned up there. It was from last year when I also started Rise of Phoenixes. Needless to say, ROP won out and I just haven't found time to go back to this. Considering it stars Qianxi, I can't imagine me NOT finishing it tbh. 

9. Ultimate Note 5/37 eps completed

Of all the ones here, this is the one I will definitely complete lol. I'ts only in the OH pile bc i started it accidentally out of order with the other Lost Tomb stuff. Once i finish the annoying Explore, I will be on this like white on rice. 


Sooooo to conclude, the highest chances of being restarted and finished go to:

- Ultimate Note
- King in Love
- Longest Day

* Sparrow is an honorable mention bc i will 100% finish it the second it's available somewhere

The ones that have the highest chance of being completely dropped:

- Demi Gods and Semi Devils
- Broker

Everything else is just kinda in between. Maybe I will maybe I won't lol. 

 I've pretty much only listened to Kpop for the last month or more and I might be having a moment of hmmm weariness?  Because I actually just completely stopped paying attention to any other releases and I usually follow Japanese and Chinese releases.  I always severely question when my music listening drops off bc I listen to so much and it's definitely dropped off the last few weeks.  I went through way too many Pentagon listens and then back over to Hyunseung.  Time to pull out Spotify and see what's happening lol.  I already listened to a few new things on there last weekend, a new Tamaki Roy album and Faky.  Also AAA's new single and SKY-HI.  Currently checking out the new I Don't Like Mondays mini.  Reminder that a mini in Japan is usually at least 7 songs lol.

I do think some of my Kpop boredom rn is rage!quit over Hyunseung.  I really don't understand what happened there.  Cube is now giving CLC a comeback and most people expect a Hyuna and BTOB one soon besides.  Hui having private schedules was all over Twitter yesterday, but I bet he's going on KOMS?  It'd be cool if he was featuring on someone's album, like Idk, CLC or Hyunsueng. :|  Probably more likely it's that Produce group or something Idek.

It's just so maddening that they literally said nothing about the comeback after the fanmeetings were canceled and even what HS said on his Insta, he had to delete.

 I don't really pay attention to where Jrock/VK fans hang out anymore.  Seems like there's quite a few on Tumblr now, though that medium is really hard when you're trying to find specific tags for example and some of these guys have the same names and plus, anime names are inevitably included.  But I do really find the Tanuki blog fascinating and kind of awesome.  Back when I was heavily into this stuff, people and their ships man.  Which is bad and annoying enough, but the thing is, they seemed to really believe that about 90% of Jrockers were gay and screwing their bandmates.  It's fairly hilarious to me now to see that exactly the opposite is true.  Not that I really ever doubted this, but try to explaining it to these nutters.

The best part is the ones that people were convinced were like "part-gay" are the straightest of them all.  What I tried to explain to people back then, that nobody got, is that their own biases and stereotypes were playing into their assumptions.  Basically, most Western cultures have this idea that effeminate, from OUR prospective, equals gay.  From 7-8 years ago, I don't really see this going away.  And that was the reason these fangirls were using to insist that various Jrockers, lbr VK guys, were gay.

One of the best entries on that Tumblr so far was the anon that was all, so people don't think Hyde is even a little bit gay?  The Tanuki translator said nope, it's not even a rumor, and it's also well-known that he sleeps around with other chicks a LOT.  I freaking said this for YEARS lol.  I even had some stuff from this Japanese friend I had at the time that was basically saying that he wasn't living with his wife and everyone knew that he was a total womanizer.  That lack of judgment on my part led to me eventually moving my blog because the fandom was MAD and I got tired of defending that shit.  LIke, omg, I'm so sorry Hyde is not your gay twink having affairs with Gackt and/or Tetsu.  Seriously, it was ridiculous.

The second best part of that blog is the disturbing fact that Tetsu has a well-known lollicon.  Hilarious, if kinda eewww, because I also knew several stans who were completely CONVINCED that he was gayer than anything.  Again, never thought he was gay, but always thought there was something a little off about him.  The lollicon explains that in spades.

Basically, I love this blog because it's showing these people that not only are their fantasies just that, but they are not even REMOTELY true.  I wish I could take it back in time lol.
