time to complain
Feb. 9th, 2022 07:45 am I'm really annoyed that this Cambrian Period thing is turning out to be pretty good in spite of the goofy and ridiculous beginning half of the drama. The worst part is that the video quality is only so-so on DM at times, which means i have to go over to YT and watch the action scenes in HQ without subs, which is mostly fine, but the switching means a 40 min ep takes me more like 50 or so minutes to complete. In the last ep I watched, there was a major character death, and while I was honestly rooting for this bastard to die, it's interesting bc as bad as he was, he still had a few redeeming qualities that made my fave try to save him. I prefer that though to the cartoonish Yan Shifan in UTP who had ZERO redeemable qualities and was just a cartoonish monster.
Then I restarted Last Cinderella and whew it feels a bit dated and why are Japanese romcoms so madcap??? The age gap between the ML and FL is pretty huge though lol. Close to 20 years i think wow. Japan really loves their age gaps.
It is mostly true though that I can't really watch more than 3 at once. I'm not getting to Reset as long as there are ToTC eps available. Was saying on Twt the other day that I like the character of Su Mo so damn much that it prob wouldn't even matter if the side characters were crap, but I like the side characters too so it's a huge bonus lol. I think it's bc he really has an alpha leader quality to him that sometimes these types of dramas don't really have. Like, in the last eps, he realizes right away that Yan Xi is transforming, and once he recovers, asks him about Na Sheng who caused him to transform, then he even goes and gets the underwater pearl thing for him to give to her.
AND he has a lot of power that he doesn't hesitate to use. Idk it just really feels different some of these downtrodden heroes who seem hesitant about everything and struggle lol. IT also helps that Yifeng as Su Mo looks really broad and manly despite the hair and godly robes and all that lol. Dunno how he manages it.
But seriously, icb there is a HQ playlist of CB on YT and no one has subbed it yet. ALl these other sites have a bunch of LQ stuff and subs. Idk update your videos or something. If i could find an SRT text file of subs that would be great too. That's what i did last year when watching B&W i just watched the HQ and checked the text file during or after to see what i missed. It really should get subbed though it's turning out to be a pretty entertaining drama.
