Lulz I just couldn't listen to something with a grayscale blank picture on Last FM so I had to turn Edawn's track into an album and put the picture he used for his Soundcloud.  I srsly love the song though.  It's great when some of these guys put their own random tracks up.  And that lowkey brings me to what I came here for lol.

Came across this old Twitter account of someone I used to follow in like 2010 or something and they were saying how Kpop was getting less talented or something, which ok, maybe that was kinda true in 2010 and 2011, the transition years I'd call them.  But that's a completely hilarious statement when you look at now.  In terms of dancing, rapping and singing, the talent quality of Kpop artists has gone WAY up.  I'm not completely a fan of that one Kpop vocal blog, but they're right about idols getting actual real training now.  Before, they just mostly sang in strained falsettos as far as I could tell lol.

I keep seeing this from old Kpop fans though.  This bitterness lol.  Like, no we don't have to appreciate the old groups, tbf, most of them sucked, and further, there's so much better about the music now vs then.  Less horrible ballads, more awesome dancing, rappers who can actually rap, singers who can actually sing, etc.  I hated old Kpop for a reason dude.

Speaking of singing, was watching some other random Triple H thing and Hui doing impromptu singing is my favorite thing.  Like, I'm lowkey disappointed when I watch something where he doesn't do it at all.  I was really digging the enka thing he started, and then the slow R&B 365 Fresh could have gone on forever too lool.  Quit wreckin' my bias, Hui. :<

In that same thing, I was highly amused watching Edawn and Hyuna keep in some kind of constant physical contact.  Even if it was just a foot or a leg.  She kept moving closer to him too and so did he at times. It's not as super obvious as HS and her, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had something going on.  Plus, I thought I saw a little circle on the same wrist where he has a little circle. Well if they do, all I can say is Hyuna has great taste in men lol.

ETA - I see that song Edawn put on his Soundcloud was made a month ago. Around the end of Triple H promotions. Hmmmm.

Now I need to pause Edawn to listen to this Halo album lol.

oh yeah

I keep forgetting to say this whenever I bring up Edawn, but I seriously do not understand why people are saying he either looks like GD or raps like him, or sometimes even both.  Whenever I see stuff like that, I assume the people involved don't have much imagination or don't listen to much in terms of variety.  I've heard GD, believe it or not, he doesn't sound anything like Edawn.  Tbh, the only rappers I've heard with similar chipmunky sounds are in the Japanese rap scene (but y'all wouldn't know that if you only listen to Kpop lulz).  I find the style really entertaining actually, though I'd have to say that Edawn is the most annoying one I've ever heard lmao.

As for looks, holy hell no.  Good grief why.

I assume these are the same people who thought any girl Hyunseung was ever seen with looked exactly like Hyuna. rme.gif

I do find it really hilarious the people who said that Hyuna and Hyunseung had no chemistry.  Mostly YT idiots and Omona tbh.  Onehallyu was pretty supportive.  I just can't figure out if these were Hyuna stans who thought Hyunseung wasn't good enough for her, or Beast fans who were devoted to some stupid ship within the group.  Either way their super salt was super obvious lol.  Of course, the other one I love is the ones saying they looked like they had a sibling relationship.  That's just gross, like I've said before.  Just admit she wanted the D.

I've been watching the Beast Showtime thing lately and it's actually really funny.  The one guy is super annoying, Jun or Jong something, but the rest of them are funny, especially Gikwang and Yoseob.  Not that I'll be stanning anytime soon bc I honestly found their music super boring outside of Hyunseung's hot voice.  Though I admit, Yoseob is pretty good.   But anyway, the shows are really hilarious, more than any other KPop reality show I've watched.  I think because they don't come off fake really?  Even though GOT7 had a few funny shows, a lot of their eps other than those Real Got7 interviews came off really forced or something Idk.

Hyunseung is so funny though.  He's so quiet and just stares into space a lot.  But his reactions are so random and sudden that you can tell they're real.  Like in episode one when he had to choose, or the members had to choose, one of four other Kpop girls that could replace Hyuna, and he was suddenly really interested and picked one right away until they told him it wasn't supposed to be him picking lol.  My gosh he was super thin in 2014 though.  I mean, I knew he was thin bc of the Trouble Maker stuff, but I guess I just didn't notice it as much until I saw him with the other, normal-sized Beast guys lol.  It was so cute when they were on Jeju and each did solo stuff and HS just went to a restaurant and ate the heck out of a bunch of seafood lol.  Compared to the rest of the show, he was way happier there by himself than at any other point.

So Edawn has reminded me of HS since the start, he has a similar 4D personality and he doesn't talk much.  But like, he's a sort of active quiet, if that makes sense.  I watched Soompi's Soulmate interview thing and all the other members started laughing in advance for his answers, bc he was last in the line.  At one point, he actually announces that he's going to say something normal this time lol.  It always looks like he's thinking of things to say, but never actually gets around to saying them.

Idk  why, but the weird ones are always my top biases lol.

Kpop fans remain the actual worst. Both I and K, tbh.  I don't follow Suju at all, but the ridiculous attempt to get one of the members kicked out for getting married is so absurd.  It's similar to what Kfans did to Hyunseung to get him out of B2ST.  Then, over to the Ifan side. Which tbh, i think this group is worse than Kfans for the most part.  They're going after Jackson for wearing dreads in a commercial.  Don't even get me started on how stupid this is.  You don't think there's hundreds of Asians walking around wearing this type of hairstyle?  HOW does it affect you?  It doesn't.  Like I've said before, re:these stupid scandals. You call me when any of them commit an actual crime.  Everything else is just entitled behavior from fans.  Just stop policing behavior, forreal.  Idc whether it's someone's age gap relationship, or what someone writes in a piece of fiction (i.e. songs) or anything else.  Just STOP.  Mind your own business.  It's really not fucking hard.

In less stupid things, I have definitely turned into a Pentagon stan.  I was all over that new release.  Watched the MV multiple times, listened to the album multiple times, etc.  Waiting for the stages now, though I did watch the showcase and ahhhhh the choreo is so awesome.  I love how they combined all these retro dance moves with new/original stuff.  Edawn is such a good dancer too.  He moves very effortlessly.  His rap part was nice and annoying, just how I like ahahah.

And yet, somehow I had to go and check out their Japanese release, well sorta.  I almost always avoid Kpop releases in Japanese bc they usually suck so much.  There were only two new songs and Hikari was boring, but I am OBSESSED with Get Down.  Mostly bc Edawn has several parts and he sounds just like he does in Korean.  I mean, honestly, his speaking voice is kinda deep so it's really a skill in and of itself that he can keep that fake voice on a consistent basis.  It actually cracks me up.

The sudden Pentagon standom is more or less due to the Triple H thing.  It made me realize how talented Hui and Edawn are and then I just fell all the way for the rest of the group.

Try my luck

Tbh, I'm really surprised at how many Yesung plays I have. I'm a well-known ballad hater and that's literally all he does for his solo. Furthermore, I don't like Super Junior. It's definitely one of my tastes that I can't explain lol.

So Pentagon - Ceremony on June 12th at noon KST and NCT 127 - Cherry Bomb on June 14th at 6pm KST. I only recently discovered that Infinite's comeback never happened bc Sungkyu got injured. Idk how I missed that. There seems to be all this baited breath about them staying together, but it sounds like they're talking to Woollim about renewing their contract. Hah, I've been paying too much attention to Kpop lately though bc I was all confused when everything came out for Junho's new album to be released at the end of July. I was like, what, all at once? What is this? But oh yeah, it's Japanese and they don't do all that nonsense lmao.

Supposedly Jinwoon is supposed to release something this month too and I saw another article about HS and that one made it sound like there is a mini or full album in the works but the July track is a prerelease? Idk, I hope they're right, but I won't bank on it. Lately I haven't been paying much attention to any releases outside of Kpop. It's gotten that bad.

I'm reaching high boredom levels with both Suspicious Partner and RMOM. The romance in both is contrived and neither one is moving fast enough. Why can't you be like Lookout and leave me in suspense at the end of every episode? Not to mention all the action and plotting. I'll probably start another backdrama soon. Considering Voice or Missing Nine, bc I'm really in love with JCW's friend's face.

I said this already, but I'm officially paying a lot more attention to Pentagon from now on lol.

As great as this fancam is though, it doesn't fully show the true highlight of Edawn's part ahahah.
