Not Today

 All the Countdown info came out yesterday.  Ten songs, only four new ones, all previous Japanese releases, including Lightsaber for some reason, MV will be Electric Kiss.  Was really hoping there'd be an actual song called Countdown lmao.  But I like all the new titles and I wanted all the previous Japanese releases on one album anyway.  I'm also glad there aren't any rehashes of the War songs or Power or anything.  Ofc there's a million and a half versions, CD + DVD and member versions for CD only.  Quite sure I'll be getting the Baekhyun version.  It's already up for preorder on YesAsia, but not CDJ I guess since I haven't gotten a notif.

No comment on MAMA lmfao.  Apparently no one was happy with the results, but of course they weren't.  To me personally though, the War was absolutely the best album of the year so like, I feel like they deserved that many times over.  Chanyeol crying got me right in the feels though ugh.  Chen won best collab and he was so cute and happy.  I love how Baek was right there to congratulate him even though he was also nominated.  I love them both so I'm not even mad.  B stans were being bitchy about it on Twitter and I'm like...how though.  Like, do you think there's anyone happier for Chen winning than Baekhyun?  Don't be dumb.

Have yet to watch the performances, but I will.  Ugh now that this stuff is all over, can we get on announcing the winter album and the CBX comeback?  SM can't drag CBX all the way over to Japan for a fan vote award and not give them a comeback.  Baekhyun continues to look absolutely gorgeous with that silver hair though.  I lowkey die every time I see him lol.  I'm not a super fan of weird hair colors, but the fact that B can pull off anything and the fact that I've always had a thing for silver-haired characters in shows, books, games etc. is a combination made in hell lol.

 Lol so part of me thinks i should care about this BTS in America thing, but I really don't???  And the main reason is that I dislike this narrative that American validation is necessary for a musical artist or honestly any piece of entertainment to be recognized as "good" or "worth something".  Regardless of what these stans say too, that IS playing a part in their excitement.  Like, they can't wait to be all, LOOK AT MY KPOP GROUP BEING RECOGNIZED BY AMERICA.  And all that does to me is further the narrative that American entertainment and approval is all that counts for anything and I reject that completely.

So yeah, I don't care.  The one good thing I suppose is just having an Asian artist get exposure since the American music industry period is STRANGELY devoid of Asians.  But I'm cynical and I'm quite sure there will be some kind of racist backlash on that.  

And so I'm just sitting here listening to EXO after watching Suho's teaser and ignoring the people freaking out on Twitter.  And it's also not that BTS is not my fave or whatever.  Jackson was there too and I still wasn't watching for him, though I'm sure he was cool af bc Jackson is just cool af no matter where he goes.

The main thing is that I just really don't give a crap about American entertainment and American music awards, so it doesn't excite me at all.  Why would I want my fave to be "validated" by an industry that I hate?  Doesn't make sense,

Haven't really watched anything new lately and I need to continue with Master Key though the latest ep with Jackson and Jinyoung, plus the one with Chanyeol.  Idk since I haven't made myself watch anything other than music lately, it's hard to commit to shows lmao.  

Oh so a full front view of Baek during Ko Ko Bop came out and uh, that was interesting. 8D  No, but srsly, I've seen a lot of stuff and that has got to be the most suggestive thing the two of them have done together.  Playboy doesn't really compare lmao.

Watching some EXO footage from AAA and the Chen fancam in the Eve...well actually in the entire group view I could see he was being rude af, but the fancam makes it even more obvious lmao.




ETA - fucking Dreamwidth destroyed my post when I added the second vid ugh.  But yes I did in fact see what I thought I saw in Ko Ko Bop there.  About 1:20ish.  The awoo majimak bamiya part. 8D Like...that was already the hottest part of the choreo and I feel like I've been waiting all year for something like that to happen lol.   BaekChen shippers are clearly not rabid enough, even though, admittedly it's only this one fancam that shows it clearly so far lmao.
