Hah so Lay finally left SM. Well, his contract expired, but he sure couldn't wait to get it out there on the 10th anniversary lol. Despite him and SM both being all, but he's still part of EXO uwu. THey're so shameless. So ig he's just gonna keep pretending he's part of EXO for whatever reason. I wish some of the Korean members would leave to really tear things up, but who tf knows. The group is still ruined for me thanks to the traitors. I never did listen to their last mini or whatever before traitor 1 and PCY went to the military. Currently, I really only care about Chen, who is coming back pretty soon. Suho's new mini looks a bit interesting though, i'll probably check that out. At this point, the only way i can avoid the traitors is to avoid the group, so I just listen to solo stuff from the other members.

Forcing myself to listen to something besides Show Luo today lol. Release Radar singles mainly, and maybe a couple of EPs. Have been watching some random Show stuff lately too. Mainly tour clips and some dance version MVs. He had some kinda TV appearance a few months back and performed some stuff. A new album is definitely coming bc he never just releases singles. And the lyrics from Trap Game very strongly imply a comeback, but they even do more than that lol. It was very much a fuck the haters kinda song.  Which is kinda funny and will probs have ppl calling him arrogant, but ig TG in particular did good when it came out. To me, his "scandal" is just a personal thing. I mean, ppl are free to leave or whatever, but his fans that stay and still want to hear his music and whatnot, they shouldn't be persecuted either bc personal failings are not the same as criminal behavior.

AND WE SURE GOT A LOT OF IFANS WHO SUPPORT ACTUAL CRIMINALS *coughseungricough*

I did highkey forget that Show can play a bunch of instruments, like the drums, guitar, piano, etc lol. I saw some tour clips with that. Ugh i really hope the new album is coming soon. 

Last night I watched more of King in Love and the cat drama. The former is ok but gosh dang i can't stand that crown prince. He's super selfish and annoying. Cat drama looks like the cat will finally admit that he's a cat lol. I really need to finish some shit so i can quit being annoyed at having to choose. 

 Lol i gotta say, I find it really weird and dumb that PCY stans on Twitter are so strongly focused on insisting that he didn't cheat on his alleged gf or whatever it was she accused him of, assuming that his girl was real in the first place. There's really no proof either way from a neutral POV. But these stans are out there angrily grabbing every post about that and insisting that it's not true. To me, this is the wrong way to go about this lol. i mean, putting aside for a second that the people who are so offended by PCY cheating on a gf or having hordes of ONS women and all of that, those people are highkey dumb too. 

But my question for both camps is why do you care? You don't know PCY, you will never know him IRL, you will never be his friend, much less his girlfriend, why do you care what he does in his private life? Like, is that why you're a fan bc you believe him to be someone who closely follows your own moral code? Bc that is WEIRD lmfao. I stan people for some combo usually of their looks and talent, sometimes personality if it's in any way relevant, but a lot of the times it's not bc i don't have time to check out everything they do offscreen or away from music yk?

So I could not care less if my faves are dating 500 women at once or have no concept of a monogamous relationship. I really don't care. It's not my business, they're not my friends, and as long as it doesn't badly affect their career, i just don't care. Hell, even if i did care, it wouldn't make any difference right?  I don't care who else wants to stan them and who doesn't. Some people have zero good reason to not like someone. It might be something they personally believe in, but makes zero sense to anyone else.

Y'all need to quit policing everyone else's morality, and especially in fandom spaces because that's not even real life. For example, I don't like Wang Yibo. I don't like him bc he's bad actor and he has a fanbase of annoying af fujoshis whom i can't stand and he was in that stupid wuxia that all the ifans love so much bc hits all their fave fetishizing notes. The fact that he's a bad actor is less important than all the latter stuff, which I totally blame him for. SO it doesn't matter what else he does, I will always dislike him for those reasons. And idc if you think they're irrational, i will still dislike him even if you argue against any of the points i just said.

Point is, if there's people who don't like PCY bc they think he's a cheating womanizer, unless PCY HIMSELF comes out and strictly and explicitly says that he's neither one of those things, those people will always dislike him. Your insistence that he never did this that and the other will not get through to them.  That's why i say that the best method is to not care. Because if you're out here arguing madly that he didn't do those things, what you're saying is that you care about whether he did or not and your standom is based on those things. If you don't care, then you're free. If other people want to dislike him for any reason, that's their business. 

You wouldn't go to the park and set your picnic down next to the only pile of dog shit, so why are you so focused on and obsessed with the stuff you can't control? Namely, other people and the things that offend them. Find another spot in the park lmao. 

 Lol i'm back. But I'm done with Kpop so anyone happening upon this journal, just forget everything that comes before this post bc i don't care anymore. I'm still a fan of some random solo artists and sorta girl groups, but I really don't care about boygroups any longer. EXO is ruined for me thanks to the traitors who joined another group and all the stupid fans who supported them so bye bye lah. I briefly considered going back to BTS since I love Suga still, but nah, that group is ruined for me too bc they no longer make the music that made me listen to them. Now, rapline gets hardly any lines, esp Sope, and their vocalists are still trash af. I liked BE for the most part and I guess it's good that they're not pots and pans like most boygroups out there but nah, I only like Suga and Hobi. 

Anyway.

Decided more or less to go back to an older fandom: Cpop and Chinese entertainment in general. Of course, the ifandom for it is as dumb as ever but just in a different way. The landscape has massively shifted from being focused on Taiwan and Hong Kong to the mainland, but that's not all that surprising when you consider the political situation. The CCP has way more power than it did 10-12 years ago, which is when I first got into it. HK is basically irrelevant now on their own. And Taiwan is not much better. Stars in both places have to work in the Mainland in order to have work at all.

I'm not a fan of how this went down necessarily, but at the same time, I won't lie that dramas and movies being higher quality and more available means that I get to watch more of them. Bc I'm not just done with Kpop, I'm done with Korean dramas as well. I watched a buttload in 2016 and 2017 and just got sick of how a lot of them were the same stupid romcoms.  Japanese dramas I will still watch occasionally if I find an interesting one that's been subbed. Bc Japan has the problem of wanting to keep all their shit out of gaijin hands. 

Reopening this so i can rant about things that are too annoying to rant about on TWitter. And Cpop Twitter is really stupid and annoying bc they're all newbs who got into it through either Yixing or other Chinese EXO members, or survival shows, OR that stupid Untamed drama. Don't get me started on the faux BL in Cdramas that fujoshis are ridiculously obsessed with lmao. They're such misogynists bc the only thing they want is no women. The dramas themselves could EASILY be construed as simple friendship only. Censors won't allow anything else so that's literally all they are. There's more "romance" in American buddy cop movies. But yeah, it gives MALE actors an easy way to get coin and popularity as they then move onto bigger and better things lmao. They even have a slang for it: going out to sea. That's all it is to them.

My other rant is how much i fucking hate Yixing stans. I don't dislike him personally. But his STANS seem to think he's God's gift to Cpop and his music is showstopping never been done before when it is literally NOT. There are several Cpop artists who have been doing what he's doing for longer. Like Gong for example. They think mixing hiphop and electro beats with Chinese traditional music is new. They also think he can rap. I can't stand they asses. I have to refrain from dragging Yixing bc he doesn't really deserve it but ye gods his fans are insufferable. 

 So the Countdown release yesterday was Electric Kiss dance practice and first of all, yay hq FULL song so I can rip it, but the choreo was aahhhhhhsum.  I'm lowkey butthurt that we won't see much of it bc they don't promote the same in Japan.  They were so in sync.  Then I did finally watch the GDA perfs, albeit just from Baekhyun's focus, well that's what came up on my home page at Youtube lmao.  Some observations:

- the choreo made more sense to me than when I first saw parts of it, it's obviously Middle-Eastern inspired, makes sense with the vocal runs they do, that sliding scale

- Both B and Do pulled those off v.well btw

- Chen sounded amazing just in general and those three songs were INTENSE and it was apparently fully live

- Lol Suho's mic broke and he was laughing about it while trying to hide it in his shirt

B was super intense, but at the end of KKB, it looked like he was cramping or something, he couldn't straighten, so that made me sad. :(  I do recall seeing some stills where he was doubled over after the performance, so I guess that's why.  Hah, but I noticed, true to his own words when he said the person he goes to when he's feeling tired/bad is Chen, he literally leaned on Chen's back at a pause point in the choreo and that is not in the original, never seen before, etc..  Poor boy. :(

 I lowkey feel like EXOL won't ever forgive THAT fandom for trying to put out our "light". Maybe I'm falling into it too, but i didn't even appreciate Soompi putting out that thing about BTS and EXO having contact or whatever.  Like, that's nice and all, that's not the fucking point. BTS fandom is VILE and they don't deserve anything.  And don't try to tell me it's just a minority, no it clearly is not.  It's both ifans AND Kfans.  If anything, they're calling down karma on their own group.  Which isn't fair to them as I bear them no ill will, but you know, as one of my mutuals put it, it's really hard to separate the two at this point.  It's sad that they've brought it to that.  But you made that bed.

In any case, some random Hyunseung news.  Yet again, one of his Japan things was canceled, same random vague reason.  Then it turns out he's dating some gymnast girl, which that's cool.  At least he has something to do lmao.  How did she find him in the dungeon though?  Also on the Cube front, Idk if I said it here, but Pentagon's Japan album appears to be almost all original this time, only one rehash with Violet.  Tempted to put it in with my EXO order. 

I'm soooooo pressed that there's like four weeks until that album comes out.  Because I already know it's awesome.  The remaining songs, I heard a preview and they all sound amazing.  No real ballads except Cosmic Railway, which is like the quintessential Jpop ballad, so not much of a ballad honestly.

Oh yeah, I watched all of EXO's eoy stuff.  Took me forever lmao. Yo nice skirt.  Anyway ahhh it was all good.  Camerawork, mostly bad, except for the last one, which might have been MBC Idek, the one in the bar, that was good.  Universe perf was good and I see they already got their first win on it too.

Ok, I know Baek has the edge in my stanning, but sometimes I'm seriously not sure because Chen is so fluffing hot and talented.  ALl I know is that SM better give them the duet they've been asking for for basically ever. :<  Even if it's just Chen guesting on Baek's solo (a few times).  SOMETHING.

 It's not even 2018 yet, for me, and shippers are already showing their asses. So there's this fake thing going around that Dispatch is gonna out a gay in-group idol couple, but it only took a few searches around for me to find out that it's pretty much fake, they have no such thing, but theoretically they were supposedly super popular even to non-Kpop fans or something, and two year age difference.  My mind immediately went to the ttwo BTS guys, Junkook and Jimin bc even though Idc about them, Idk, there's something about them.  Mind you I think such a thing is very unlikely, but there's a few that make me go hmmm forreal and they are one.

BUT ANYWAY, since it's all fake it doesn't matter, but there are actually people, shippers ofc, who can't wait for Dispatch to do this and i'm like what the actual fuck you guys.  This wouldn't be funny if it were real bc their careers would be fucking ruined.  What if one of them even killed themselves or something?  This would not go down like your little fantasies.  Korea would not accept them.  They'd get kicked out of their group and their group would probably not recover.  Even though I don't like BTS, I wouldn't wish that on them.

The other alleged rumor ppl think is a-class male idol dating b-class female idol and the top theories are Sehun or Suho.  Tbh, I super want it to be Sehun bc like I've said before, I fucking hate the ifan mentality that 4D members are automatically gay.  Such a stupid stereotype.

 Watched the Universe MV and it was aight.  The album is much better.  It's all chill and mellow with a lot of "real" instruments and everyone sounds good, except someone had a strained falsetto in Lights Out, I suspect Suho but I won't know until I see the line distribution.  I love Been Through, in fact, it was the only song I really loved after the first listen, but now that I've listened to it all several times, I also really like Fall and Stay.  Universe, compared to their other winter title songs, ranks second for me.  Miracles in December is still the fucking king lol.

I really liked the star art in the digital booklet.  The messages were funny, bc Baek's was generic af and really short, the shortest in fact, and then Chen's was the longest and had meaningful words lol.  Then my second favorite ship, ChanKai, both felt the need to introduce themselves despite the fact that the messages were already literally under their names. 🤣

Someone spliced the extra minute from a concert recording so it wasn't even all that clear, but that's all that was missing, a minute and I don't even think it added all that much.  I was most happy to hear that Baek's evil laughter still ends the song.

 Idk fans were being really annoying yesterday.  From commenting all over the Korean news channels on YT about taking down vids to a PUBLIC event to spreading all manner of dumb rumors on Twitter.  Tbqh, I just really needed to see EXO there and how they looked.  I can't even explain it.  But I couldn't even go to sleep last night until I finally saw a shot of B there.  He went in and out by himself, contrary to all the nonsense on Twitter.  DO also went by himself.  B is so good at hiding negative emotions, but Chen was clearly breaking down as he left and that made me so fucking sad.  I also saw Hyunseung and Highlight.  Yoseob and Gikwang in particular looked upset.

But yeah fans kept commenting on these videos to be removed or whatever and it's like srsly?  Ifans are so annoying.  The event was PUBLIC, which means everyone coming knew full well that it was public.  And it was just showing the mourners coming in and out, not actually in the main area where his picture is and all that.  Plus, everyone deals in different ways.  Like I just said, I really needed to see EXO.

Saw more of American media outlets being gross af.  I cannot with them and others reducing Jonghyun's struggle and death to Kpop and SM.  It's honestly really offensive.  I saw the Netizen Buzz post on that and was definitely nodding along with all the Knetz comments.  LIke seriously keep your nose out of it when you know nothing.  Apparently one dumb American media outlet actually was playing a BTS vid as they talked about his death?  Like wtf so all Kpop groups are basically interchangeable now or what?  Ugh so fucking annoying.  That's why I don't want it to get attention here

Anyway.  I wonder how SHINee is going to go on or if they can at all.  Tbqh I would not be surprised if they didn't. =/  I read that in his final concerts, there was a prompter where he was supposed to announce his comeback in January and he didn't read it.  That was early December so he obviously had this planned and it's so sad.

 I knew there was something coming yesterday, but I didn't really expect it to be the short version Electric Kiss MV.  I also didn't fucking expect it to be so freaking good omg.  I haven't been able to play anything else since it came out.  And as it's less than 3 minutes long, I've already racked up way too many plays.   Istg I'm gonna have over 100 plays before the longer version even comes out.  I can't believe they're gonna drop a Japanese album that's already this epic lmao.

What's funny though, is all the...hmmm stupid from other fandoms since it came out.  First was someone for who knows what reason posted the MV in ONTD and someone's dumb comment was, their Japanese sounds horrible but I don't speak it so.  Lol THEN HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY JUDGE BITCH.  Tbh, I think it's better than most Japanese you hear in KPop releases, but I also think it's improved since their previous releases and obviously CBX had some extra practice earlier in the year.  Either way, as a person with a long history of listening to Japanese music, I have ALWAYS been extremely lukewarm to straight cold on Kpop in Japan.  EXO has completely broken through that wall lol.  I see their Japanese stuff to be on the same level and I love that they aren't half-assing this shit, they're not rehashing the War or anything else.  These were all songs made for the Japanese market and they WORK, for lack of a better word.

Even with my other favorites, GOT7 and Pentagon.  Got7's Japanese stuff is aaaaawful and Pentagon had one banger in Get Down, but the rest of the mini was rehashes and a boring ballad.  They're releasing another one I guess, but they need to do better.

I've exhausted all my splooge on the actual MV elsewhere, but suffice to say they were all hot af and Baekhyun especially bc well he's my bias and basically he just has to breathe and he's sexy so.  Also notably hot was Chen, but he's my solid second so like that's not even surprising either lol I'll stop now.
